Christ's suffering upon the cross and your issues… Matthew 20:22 "You don't know what
you are asking," Jesus said to them. "Can you drink the cup I am going
to drink?" (NIV) Matthew 20:22 But Jesus answered and
said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall
drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? (KJV) Your life issues can eat you up and spit you out. Your life issues can destroy you. Where is the cross when it comes to your life issues? Christ's suffering upon the cross puts everything, including your life issues, into a new perspective. Christ's suffering upon the cross may not seem to connect to you, to your trials, or to your suffering. However, what you must do is put your suffering next to His suffering. What you must do is put your issues next to His suffering. When you compare what you may be going through next to His suffering upon the cross, there is no real comparison. One of the reasons He died for you is to give you a new way of looking at your world. One of the reasons He died for you is to give you a new way of looking at your suffering. The very nature of suffering makes us look at the world in a selfish way because suffering makes us selfish by making us hurt. Christ's suffering and death upon the cross will help you get out of yourself and into His arms. When you are then in Christ's arms, although your physical healing may not be finished, your spiritual healing will be complete. When you have been spiritually healed, your life issues will become manageable. As you survey and take in Christ's suffering upon the cross, your issues are diminished and you are then a victor over your issues.
