A Daily Devotional
About confronting evil and doing good…
Luke 6:35 But
love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get
anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most
High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. (NIV)
As you slog through the daily grind of life, you see evil. You see evil on television, in movies, in print, even in people around you. Sometimes you do not see evil because evil wants you to be blind to what evil is and what evil does. However, in every aspect of your life, you must never ignore evil. To deal with evil in your life, you must confront evil. Of course, evil does not want confrontation. Evil wants to slither around in the darkness unseen and unnoticed. To confront and win over evil, you must do good deeds when evil strikes. To confront and win out over evil, you must do good deeds at all times and in all ways. The point of evil is to erase the good in your life and erase the good in the world. If evil strikes and erases the good in your life, you must take action to replace the good erased. In addition, the point of evil is to try to get you to be evil in return. To counteract what evil wants, you must do good deeds in the face of evil. The point of evil is to destroy everything within you. To make sure evil does not get its way, do good and godly deeds. Do good and godly deeds to those who hurt you. Do good and godly deeds to those who despise you. Do good and godly deeds to those who hate you. Do good and godly deeds to those who do evil things against you. The end result of doing good and godly deeds in the face of evil is peace within your heart and life. The end result of doing good and godly deeds in the face of evil is joy in Heaven and incredible peace within your heart and life.
