Previous Daily Devotional About the consequences of hearing God in the stillness… Isaiah 30:15 This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: "In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it. (NIV) What if we never heard God in the stillness? What if we never heard God's incredible rush of knowledge, wisdom, grace, and love? If we never hear God in the stillness we are consumed by a deathly silence. If we never hear God speak, we are consumed by a deathly silence where there is no today and no hope for tomorrow. Living your life and never hearing God in the stillness is like running on fumes. Yes, you can believe in God but never hearing Him in the stillness brings up the next question about how much you believe without some personal experience in hearing Him in the stillness. Yes you can trust God but without hearing Him in the stillness, how much can you trust Him? It is in the stillness we come to God. It is in the stillness God comes to us. It
is in the stillness we melt down our ego and we come kneeling in total humility
at the foot of His cross. |
