About
the consequences of patience…
James 5:7 Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord's coming. See how
the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is
for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the
Lord's coming is near.
(NIV)
What
if we had no patience? Whatever faith we would have in our impatience would be
lost in the shambles we would make of our life and our relationships. God does
not need and you do not want to be shaky, unstable, and wavering at every wisp
of adversity as a result of your impatience. Impatience kills whatever faith
exists.
Patience
is a hands-on demonstration to God we believe in Him. Patience is our clear
message to God we will wait on Him to do His will. Patience is our clear message
to God we will wait for as long as it takes. Patience means we will not be moved
by adversity, pain, suffering, or trials. Patience and faith are so intertwined
we can say patience is the outcome of faith and faith is the outcome of
patience.
Patience
will win out in the end because God is a being of infinite time. God may take a
long to do what He needs to do and those who wait upon Him will not wait in
vain.
Lack
of patience creates chaos.
We
have patience because our belief goes beyond just believing to knowing.
We
have patience because we know positively without any doubt…the seasons of our
life bring change but in the end, at the end…when we are patient, God blesses
us with a mighty reward.
Patience
means standing firm, being stable, being unmoving, and being unwavering.
