A Daily Devotional About courage in a time of fear… Matthew 14:27 But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I Don't be afraid." (NIV) Every person has a taste of fear. Some people know fear on a daily basis. Most of us have real reasons to fear for ourselves or for the generations to come after us. Hatred boils up in a world proliferated with nuclear weapons. Terribly, someone with an evil mind will gain control a nuclear weapon and try to use it. We all have reason to fear in this case. We have many other kinds of fears. The world faces changes it has never faced before in all of recorded history. Most of all, there are billions of people in the world who do not know Christ, who do not know His peace, and who do not know His call to live in peace. In Christ, even when we fear, we can find courage to face every uncertainty. In Christ, even when we fear, we can find courage to face every threat. In Christ, even when we fear, we can find courage to face every doubt. In Christ, even when we fear, we can find courage when we open our heart and life. We
have no reason to fear because we have a Savior waiting for us in Heaven. We
have no reason to fear because Christ is waiting to wrap His arms around us and
welcome us home to paradise. |
