Previous Daily Devotional About finding a new life amid the distractions… Matthew 7:7"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. (NIV) Matthew 9:36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. (NIV) We are the multitudes. Please hear our cry. We go through the motions of success but feel we are failures. We shop for items at the store or at the mall but we could care less about what we buy. We are distracted but we do not know what distracts us. Something we cannot define eats away at us every waking moment and pulls our attention away from where we are and what we are doing. We are the multitudes. Please hear our cry. There is a distracting ill wind that blows through every person's life. If your life is without focus and you are continually distracted, there is hope. There is hope for an end to the distraction because within you there is a kingdom that rivets your attention. Within you there is a kingdom of riveting beauty, riveting loveliness, and riveting power. Within you there is a kingdom full of treasures not found on earth. Within you there is a kingdom so full of purpose and meaning every second of your life is focused on singular goals and singular purposes to be achieved. Within you there is a kingdom that does not eat away at you like our present life so often does. For within you, instead of losing your soul, you can gain your soul. Within you this hour, within you this instant, is the power of God in God's kingdom within. |
