Previous Daily Devotional About the cry of the multitudes for hope… Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." (NIV) Matthew 9:36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. (NIV) We are the multitudes. Please hear our cry. "We live in a kind of deadness. We are black, white, red, yellow, and brown. We are old. We are young. We are sick. We are healthy. Many people know us but no one knows anything about us. Life passes us by and we see the passing parade only as spectators. Because of our deadness, when we have to interact with life there is such a strain on us we can't get excited about anything. It is not that we live in a hopeless world, it is that our personal world, the world inside of our skin, is devoid of hope." If you are one of the multitudes, although you may not believe it, there is a twinkling star winking and blinking at you. Of all the stars that shine at night, there is a personal star God made just for you. Even when the clouds come, the star still shines. Even when you go inside at night, the star keeps winking and blinking. Of course, the idea of a personal star is just an idea. However, the idea could be real. The point is that we can all hold ideas in our mind. We all hold thoughts in our head. There is also a second idea you can hold in your mind. The second idea is that within you there is a kingdom something like a virtual kingdom on your computer. However, the kingdom within you is not virtual, the kingdom within you is real. Within you there is a real supernatural kingdom with unlimited possibilities and unlimited potentials. In your unlimited kingdom, you are totally known and you are totally loved regardless of who you are or what you have done. In the unlimited kingdom within you, you are part of life's passing parade but instead of being a spectator on the sidelines, you are a participant in the parade. In the unlimited kingdom within you, there is unlimited energy and glad hands always reach out to greet you. In the kingdom within you, there are unlimited tomorrows, unlimited opportunities, and unlimited hope. In the kingdom within you, hope comes alive every hour. In your kingdom, hope is not just an idea, but a reality. In the kingdom within you, there is an eternal stream of refreshing living water of which there is no equal on earth. Within you, there is also another person living, a great provider, a great defender, a great healer known as the Great Physician…a person who makes your life come alive bit by bit, slowly but surely, until you soar into the eternal Heavens. |
