Previous Daily Devotional About being found where we are… Luke 15:32 But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' (NIV) Matthew 9:36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. (NIV) We are the multitudes. Please hear our cry. We are lost in a world that tells us everything is fine while we tell everyone we are fine. However, we live in places we do not want to live. We move to places where we want to live but we are not at home. We are in our homes but we feel we are strangers living in a strange place. We work every day in jobs we say we want and we say we like but our jobs shut down our heart and soul. We are the multitudes. Please hear our cry. If you are one of the multitudes, God hears you and sees you. God knows you inside out. God has a place for you in the future. God has a place for you in the present. God's place for you in the present is in His heart. God's place for you in the future is in His home. In this present time and in the present place you inhabit upon the earth, God is reaching out to touch your heart. In this present time and in the present place you inhabit upon the earth, God hopes you will reach back to Him and touch Him. Although everything in our life may not be fine, and we may even spend years lying to others and ourselves about how things really are, there is a place for us this instant where all troubles melt away. Your place this instant where all troubles melt away is in the heart of God. Your place this instant where you can feel the warmth, care, and gentleness of a loving home is in the heart of God. Your place this instant where you are never a stranger or where you never, ever feel strange or out of place is in the heart of God. Your work place this instant where you always have a great job to do and great chances for advancement is in the heart of God. We place ourselves in the heart of God, not through any kind of human effort, but by letting our life, our soul, and our heart be found when we are lost. We let all that we are be found by coming to Christ Jesus on the cross and accepting our role in crucifying Him, turning away from who are as sinners, and accepting His forgiving love that knows no limits and knows no bounds. |
