About the curse of sin or selfishness…

2 Corinthians 5:17  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: (NIV)

There is a curse upon the life of every person, a curse called sin. At the root of sin is the curse of selfishness. The curse of sin or selfishness turns the heart into a center of bitter discontent. The curse of sin or selfishness causes human beings to do evil things to themselves and to others. However, there is for us a way to deal with the curse of sin or selfishness. The way we deal with the curse upon us is to throw all of our life before Christ dieing upon the cross. We must, to deal with the curse of sin upon our life, turn away from our mortal and bodily life. We must repent and be the spiritual beings God wants us to be. To achieve the ultimate spiritual state, we must cast our whole life including our physical, spiritual, intellectual, and emotional sinfulness before Christ. It is this act of turning away and surrendering up all we are that begins to separate us from the curse of sin and selfishness. After we have turned away from the curse of sin upon our life and we ask Christ to come into our heart and life, we become new persons. Then, the old selfish person with the curse of sin and selfishness gets washed away. The old selfish and sinful person is replaced with a new person with a new heart that is free and clean. The new freedom we receive as a result of not being cursed by sin and selfishness is the most exhilarating, profound, remarkable, exciting, and highest experience in life. Our freedom from the curse of sin and selfishness makes all things new. The old physical world we used to live in may appear to be the same, the people may appear to be the same, but with a new heart within us, with new eyes to see and new ears to hear, all things become new. Not only is our freedom from sin and selfishness the most exhilarating, profound, remarkable, exciting, and highest experience in life, the most exhilarating, profound, remarkable, exciting, and highest experience can last for eternity.
