Previous Daily Devotional About daily worship in a time of fear… Isaiah 56:7 "these I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations." (NIV) Your worship time should be a time of honesty before God, especially when you are afraid. Of course, you can pretend before God you have no fear, but look how ludicrous it is to pretend you have no fear when you are with God! God knows more about you and your fear than even you know, so to pretend you have no fear is pretty pathetic, don't you think? When you are afraid, no matter what you might fear, take your fear to God in a time of daily worship. When you are in His presence, it is OK to melt down and let your fear come out. It is OK to melt down a little with God because God can, will, and does reform and reshape you to give you courage and hope. When God reforms and reshapes you with courage and hope, what you are when God gets done with you is a person (you) who may still be afraid but you will be a person who has changed and now has courage. When you come to God in honesty about your fear then you will have courage to act in spite of your fear. As a result of your daily worship, you will have courage to confront what you fear so you can later exclaim what it was you were afraid of was nothing to fear at all. Can you take a little time each day for God, for prayer, for meditation, for reflection, and for giving thanks? Can you take a little time each day for a little daily worship even when you are in fear?
