Previous Christmas Devotional About dark clouds and Christ’s birth… Revelation 1: 7 Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen. (NIV) One must wonder what God might have been thinking when Jesus was born. God knew the cross was ahead for His only Son. In our own life, as bright and wonderful as Christmas can be, we all know our life on earth will come to an end. We all know there can be Christmases that will not be the best. Darkness can roll into our life like a terrible storm. No matter whether there is a Dec. 25 or not, some of us must live with circumstances and events we would like to change. However, no matter what happens to us in the future on earth, there is a great day ahead of us. In our future on earth, Jesus waits to comfort us in every trial. In our future beyond earth Jesus waits for us. When our trials on earth are over He will guide us home for the ultimate celebration. As good and wonderful as some of our Christmases can be, no celebration will be as good and wonderful as the day we walk into our new mansion in the sky. Even in the dark days of our present life, we can open our heart and see Christ’s Light of Love and power flowing down over our souls. No matter what happens to us in the future on earth, Christ stands ever-ready to bestow upon us the gifts of His love and grace. At the present moment, when we think about His birth, we can also know for certain He is alive in our heart. At the present moment, Christ is alive and is driving out the fear, anxiety, and doubt about the days to come. Praise His name! Praise His name! Praise His holy name!
