dealing with changes in life…
James
1:17 Every good and
perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights,
who does not change like shifting shadows. (NIV)
Every day is different. For some people, every
day seems to be like the day before. For other people, every day may look like
the day before but they are able to see how even the possibility of unwanted
change is a threat. For still other people, every day is a constant battle with
the powers, forces, and circumstances of change. There are times when all of us
face awesome changes in our life. For most people, times of change bring worry,
concern, and even fear or anxiety. Even when good changes are happening in our
life, we can still face a fear and anxiety about what the future holds. When we
face times of change, we can always go to God, a being who loves us and who
never changes. God is constant. God is unchanging. God is the same today as He
was yesterday. God will remain the same tomorrow and forever. When our world has
been turned upside down by changes we do not want, we can find God will always
be His unchanging and loving self. When our life is torn asunder by all kinds of
trials that seem to change everything, we can find God’s love is the same as
it was yesterday, the same as it was two thousand years ago, and the same as it
will be two billion years from now. In your daily prayer and meditation time, if
you look within your heart, you will see Jesus remains the same by always
forgiving you, by always helping you, and by always giving you His peace. |
