Previous Daily Devotional About the deepest truth of all… Luke 8:24 The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Master, Master, we're going to drown!" He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. (NIV) The deepest truth of all is the hardest truth to accept. The deepest truth of all is we are who we are because of decisions we have made and actions we have taken. There is often revulsion in the innermost parts of our soul to the idea we make, create, or affect our own life. However, the largest truth of the Christian faith is that Christ is our Lord and Savior. Within this largest truth is another truth…we are Christians only because of a decision we make. Likewise, we are who we are, we are the persons and personalities we are, because of decisions we make. We cannot choose our parents, our upbringing, or the influences life throws at us. However, we can live in victory in spite of the negative influences of the world around us. The deepest truth of our life is we can all live victorious lives even in the mud and garbage of our existence. When we accept our life is our ship and we are the captain, even in the worst storms of our life, we can stir our ship through the storms because we know in the end Christ will surely calm the water and lead us home.
