Previous Daily Devotional About defending our faith… Lamentations 3:22 Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. (NIV) We must be willing to support and defend our faith in all circumstances, no matter what the cost might be to us or to our well being. Today, many persons in the Christian faith are in the faith because they want their faith to give them well being or pay dividends. In reality, the well being of persons in the faith must often be sacrificed because the darkness wants to kill our faith in Christ. If we are faithful, every day the Lord restores us and makes us new so we can carry on in spite of persecutions by evil and darkness. As part of the persecution we must endure, both Satan and the satanic influences of the world make us old and will consume us until we die. By being faithful, we live in God and God has mercy upon us. God pours out His blessings on us as a result of our willingness to believe in Him, our willingness to stand up for Him, and our willingness to defend Him. When we are faithful to God then God is faithful to us. When we are faithful, God is new every day even when our life seems humdrum and boring. When we are faithful, God does not get old. As we are willing to stand up for God, God is faithful to us and He will stand up for us. As a result of our faith in Him, God will never leave us or forsake us. God is, and remains, infinite. God's faithfulness to us is infinite as well. |
