About the discipline of God…

Deut. 8:5 Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you. (NIV)
When God puts you to the test it is God’s way of disciplining you and His way of making you grow. With no self-discipline in life, your life is a mess. God disciplines you to give you self-discipline and self-control. When you resist His teaching or you go against God’s will the lessons from God get more and more difficult. God loves you as a parent. This is why we call God “Father”. Good parents discipline their children. Good parents rebuke their children. Good parents discipline and rebuke their children to teach the children proper and constructive conduct because the parent loves the child. The Lord does the same thing with each of us. When we are deep in trouble, in pain, or in afflictions, we can rest in knowing we are being taught lessons by God. The Lord does not want afflictions to come upon us, but if the afflictions happen then God will use the afflictions as lessons to teach us and refine our souls. The more willing we are to be shaped, molded, and taught by God, the more we learn. God has faith in you. God loves you so much He invested the life of His only Son in you. God’s faith in you is centered in His hope you will learn His lessons and most of all, accept His Son as your Savior.
