About being empowered to boldness Acts 9:28 So Saul stayed with them and moved about freely in Jerusalem, speaking boldly in the name of the Lord. 29 He talked and debated with the Grecian Jews, but they tried to kill him. 30 When the brothers learned of this, they took him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus. (NIV) Dramatic changes take place in a person's life when they begin to see the truth in Christ. No matter what a person's circumstances might be in life, God's power through the Holy Spirit gives them spirit. In every circumstance, the love of Christ from the Holy Spirit empowers a person to boldness in dramatic ways. This does not mean every person becomes an evangelist. What being empowered to boldness does mean is that you are not content to sit back and let Satan and the powers of darkness attack you. Living in boldness means you refuse to be defeated. Living in boldness means you truly forgive others who trespass against you. Living in boldness means you truly love others as yourself, and love Christ more and more each day. Living in boldness means that even in the deepest darkness, you refuse to cave in and give up. Instead, when you are empowered by the Holy Spirit, your boldness causes you to challenge the darkness and in so doing, you bring Christ's light into every adversity. Living in boldness that comes from the Holy Spirit turns us from being cowardly to courageous. We become courageous in showing others how much Christ loves them. We become courageous in showing His compassion and mercy by how we act, what we say, and how we say it. |
