About being entrusted with a will to do God's will….

John 7:17 If anyone chooses to do God's will, he will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own. (NIV)

It is not the human will that is such a problem. The problem of the human will is the direction in which we point that will. The problem of the human will is that we so often do not take charge of it and direct it. Satan delights in thwarting the will of God in every heart. Satan delights in taking the human will and directing our will away from God. If there is a secret of life, the greatest secret may be each of us can control our will. Each of us does have the power of self-control and self-discipline. When we control our will, when we direct our will toward the will of God, then we are victors. When we lose control of our will or when we let our will be diverted away from God, then we are losers. God entrusted us with a will to be used for His glory and His grace. Great things happen in our lives when we direct our will in the direction of God's will. God's will is like a great river of love flowing through our life. When we decide to put our will in the direction of God, His will carries us and empowers us. When we chose not to go in the direction of God, we are trying to swim upstream against Him and against what God wants for us. The great gift of God's will flows through our lives. God's power gives us the assurance that no matter how things might turn out for us today or tomorrow, just beyond the end of our earthly life lies a mansion built by God…a mansion ready and waiting for us.
