Previous Daily Devotional About being entrusted with God's love 1 Chronicles 29:9 The people rejoiced at the willing response of their leaders, for they had given freely and wholeheartedly to the LORD. David the king also rejoiced greatly. (NIV) God has given you many gifts. God gave you the most precious gift of all, your life. Although we sometimes do not realize it, God has also given us His love that lives within our life. He has given us His love in countless ways. The most visible gift of God's love was Christ Jesus who came to give us eternal life. God gave His gift of love to you and He has entrusted His love with you. God did not give you life and His love so you would only keep life and His love only for yourself. God entrusted you with life and His love so you would find it in your heart to give your life and His love away to others. Love kept only within us fades away after awhile. The love of God is designed to shared with others. When we die we will all answer for what we did with what God has given us. In spite of many trials and hardships, God expects us to give away all we have been given. God expects us to hold nothing back in our giving. However, it is our human instinct to hold within us what we have been given. It is our human instinct to keep what we have so we can survive. However, with God and His love, our spiritual survival depends not upon what we keep for ourselves, but upon what and how much we give away. It is against all human instincts to give away that which keeps us alive. It is against all human instincts to sacrifice our own life to save another. However, with God, when we give away all that we have, there is a door to Heaven that opens and from that door flows the mighty power of God. When we give away in either our poverty or our wealth, blessings pour down upon us. When we have nothing left to give and we strain against all odds to find one more morsel to give to another, the power of God's love multiplies within us. Lastly, miracles happen within us so we can give more than we have. |
