A Daily Devotional About finding something in nothing… Revelation 2:8 These are the words of him who is the First and the Last, who died and came to life again. 9 I know your afflictions and your poverty--yet you are rich! I know the slander of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. 10 Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life. (NIV) Our spiritual life connects us to the realms of the invisible. In practice, God is invisible. Christ came to us to show us God is real and we can trust Him to be with us in every trial. However, we are all weak. Our faith weakens and what we cannot see we cannot easily believe exists. What is incredible and amazing about God is God has gifted us with the ability to find something real in what much of the secular world calls the unreal. God has gifted us with the ability to see, know, and touch the invisible. So dramatic is God's gift to us, millions of people will testify about Him and some will even go to their death to defend His reality. Ponder this truth. Even when no one can see Him with their physical eyes, hear Him with their physical ears, or touch Him with their physical hands, many persons, perhaps you, are willing to face death to defend His reality. In your physical existence, when you need to find God, look within your heart in the realm of the invisible within you. Look within your heart for the place within you where God, Christ, the Holy Spirit, and heaven exists every moment for eternity. Look for the place within your heart where love is alive…and you will find Him. You will find Him hanging from a cross on a place called Calvary. |
