Christmas Story Devotional Matthew 2:14 So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt, 15 where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: "Out of Egypt I called my son." (NIV) We have many questions in our minds. We have many things we want to know from God and about God. In this account of the Christmas story, Joseph does not ask any questions, he does not protest, he just follows orders. From this account, Joseph took the baby Jesus and Mary as soon as Joseph received the warning in the middle of the night. In our relationship with God, we must learn to not doubt God's will or God's love for us. We must not put our needs in front of His needs. It is especially important for you to learn to follow the will of God without question. Do as He tells you to do and do it immediately. We are at war. The darkness and evil of the world want to kill us off just as they wanted to kill an innocent baby Jesus. A good soldier of the Cross does not whine, complain, bicker, or take issue with God. A good soldier follows orders. |
