A Daily Devotional

About trying to see things from God’s perspective…

Psalms 36:7 How priceless is your unfailing love! Both high and low among men (who) find refuge in the shadow of your wings. 8 They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. (NIV)

If we all told the truth from the very depths of our being about our earthly life, we could say that God has failed us. If we told the truth about our lives we could tell about how we prayed but God did not answer our prayers like we wanted. We could tell about how God could have acted or changed things but did not act. We could tell about how God was not there to fix what needed to be fixed when we needed Him. We could all tell these things and from our human perspective, they could all be true. However, from God’s spiritual and heavenly perspective, God would tell us He was there all the time, and we did not know it. God would tell us He heard all our prayers and acted on them but not in ways we can understand. From God’s perspective, God would tell us He refrained from acting to fix what needed to be fixed for eternally good reasons beyond our understanding. God would tell us that someday, when we see Him face to face we will understand. In the meantime, we are to pray, fast, and hold Him and His love in our hearts.
