Previous Daily Devotional This Devotional Is Part Of A Special Continuing Series Related To Dependency And Co-dependency Issues. Rules Of Godly Common Sense Apply. About getting depressed because of a lack of compliments and praise… Philippians 4:13 I can do everything through him who gives me strength. (NIV) We should all be strong enough and secure enough within ourselves we do not need compliments and praise. However, many people are not strong or secure within themselves. Many people have innate weaknesses and insecurities not of their own making. Various experiences and circumstances in our upbringing can place upon us a terrible imprint of weakness and insecurity we carry for a lifetime. As Christians, we are people who can be strong because Christ lives within us. His strength within us can give us the ability to live a productive life free of the need for compliments and praise. Even if no person on earth ever compliments or praises you, as a Christian, with the strength of Christ within you, you can always know with certainty Christ approves of your being His child.
