Previous Daily Devotional About giving thanks… 1 Thessalonians 5:18 …give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. (NIV) Today is Thanksgiving in the United States. Our tradition is to gather family and friends together, eat turkey, and watch football in the afternoon. In between the turkey and football, we need to count our many blessings. No matter who we are, or where we are, we have blessings to count. No matter what our circumstances might be in life, God is ever present with us and His love surrounds us if we turn to Him. The more thankful we are, the closer we are to doing Gods will. When we do God’s will, He gives us peace, calm, and blessings to help us live each day. As we recognize how Christ holds us in His love, and we give thanks, His love becomes more real to us. As we grow in our faith and give thanks, Christ gives us blessings so numerous we cannot count them. Praise God from whom all blessings flow. |
