About giving your personal best 2 Timothy 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. 16 Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. (NIV) We sometimes suffer from self-imposed mediocrity. We give less than all we have, yet we expect to get back more than we have given. When we truly serve Christ our Savior, then His sacrifice inspires us to give more than we have. Sometimes we set our sights on earthly goals of a less than redeeming nature. Sometimes we ignore the goals God has for us, even when those goals and achievements are within our grasp. Too often, we pass over the greatness God seeks from us and we sink down into our earthly ideas of success. God's goals and purposes for your life are far greater than you could imagine. God's goals and purposes for your life are filled with heaven's glory and praise. When you achieve God's goals and purposes then the windows of heaven open and His blessings pour out and fall down around you and around those you love. Sometimes we slack off and give up too soon. We must remember God is not praised by giving up. God's blessings flow only to those who hang on and hang in until the very end. For every Christ-like effort in your life, there is the Light at the end of the tunnel. No matter how dark the tunnel may be at the moment, if you look, and if you focus, you can see Him waiting for you at the end. Sometimes we do not strive to achieve His success that can surely be ours because we have lost hope. In Christ, we are a winner every time, all the time. In Christ, there is always an assured fulfillment of every hope and every dream we can imagine. Because you are loved, you can find and express His fullest potential in your every minute. |
