About the glory and the
calling of God…
Matthew
25:37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry
and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? (NIV)
Matthew
25:40 "The King will reply, `I tell you the truth, whatever you did
for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' (NIV)
Many times the call of God
is not from the top of a mountain like
Mt.
Sinai
, but from the very depths of our world and our
society. It is not just those who are hungry and thirsty who are calling you,
but God is calling you through them. When we see how others are in pain and
hurt, when we see how others are down and need the love of God, when we pray for
others because they are hurting, our responding to the call of God’s little
ones shows up in our life. When we help those in need it shows up in our life.
When we clothe those who need clothing, when we feed the hungry, when we give to
the poor, when we respond to the call of God from his sheep, it shows up in us.
Seeing the glory of God is not just a matter of climbing up a mountain like
Moses. Seeing the glory of God is a matter of seeing the needs of those around
you and responding to those needs. We must not seek God for selfish reasons for
if we seek God for selfish reasons we find Him only for a short time and we soon
lose Him. When we seek God in selfless surrender, we find Him for eternity. When
we seek God to help others because of their need and we help them also find Him,
we will live in His glory and we will see Him each day.
