Previous Daily Devotional About God's anger and frustration… John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him." (NIV) How can God, a being of pure love, possess anger and frustration? God's anger and frustration are not so much a part of God as they are an "un-part" of God. When you turn away from God, you turn away from God's warmth, care, and love. When you turn away from God you turn toward the cold and uncaring hatred God is not. When you turn toward what is cold, uncaring, and hateful there is anger and frustration called also called "wrath". We make grievous mistakes when we turn away from God. When we are in our turned away state, the anger and frustration or wrath of God comes toward us because the anger and frustration of God is God in His absence. When we turn toward God, we place our spirit in His presence. When we turn away from God, we are in His absence. In His absence, there is anger, frustration, and wrath. Although we may be turned away from God, we can always turn toward Him. God permits all of us to always keep our will so we can always turn toward Him and toward His love. Do we not have enough trouble in life without turning away from God? Do we all not need the healing love of His touch upon our soul? |
