Previous Daily Devotional About God's compassion beyond reason… Mark 1:41 Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man." (NIV) Each of us, at various points in our life, needs the healing touch of compassion from others. However, no matter how much we need the healing touch of others, there are many, many times compassion from others does not come. We are often beaten up by life and few people know or care to know. We are often beaten up by life and few people respond or care to respond to our plight. Our human reason could be used to walk into the life of others and to show them someone cares. However, too often our human reason is used for other purposes, most likely selfish purposes, rather than the purposes of expressing compassion. In stark contrast to our unfilled need for compassion stands a person who pours His compassion over us ever hour. In your own life, in your own soul, the person who stands next to you and who understands your every hurt is Christ Jesus. Just because you cannot see Him does not mean He is not there. Just because you cannot see Him does not mean He is not with you. In truth, Jesus is always with you and Jesus always cares. Your human reason may tell you, indeed sometimes does tell you, if you cannot see Him then He must be far off. But your human reason is often wrong. Your human reason is wrong about Jesus being far off. Your human reason is wrong about Jesus not pouring His compassion and His understanding over you every second. There is a remarkable attribute of God. The remarkable attribute of God is when you believe in Him then He becomes real within you. When you believe He stands next to you and pours His compassion over you, His compassion becomes real and He does pour His compassion over you…even if your reason tells you otherwise. With God, you are immersed in His compassion beyond reason. |
