Previous Daily Devotional About God's personal insulation for you Psalms 5:11 But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. 12 For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield. (NIV) When you are willing, God will help insulate you from the dark arrows of evil. This does not mean darkness will not come against you. However, when your will is conformed to the will of God, your strength will be renewed and God's blessings will divert the darkness that wants to take you down. When you are willing, God will insulate you from the influence of those who want to hurt you. God's protection flows to you because, when you are willing, your heart does not want to associate with those people who are violent. When you are willing, God will insulate you from those people who want to bring war where there is peace. God's protection flows to you because, when you are willing, you do not want to be with those persons who bring chaos and hatred. This does not mean you are always protected. What this does mean is that God's power overshadows you and His influence over your life gives you a distance you would not otherwise have a distance from those people and forces that want to enslave you in chaos. When you are willing, the power of God will insulate you from the destructive power of greed when you are in poverty. When your heart is given over to the heart of God, you do not yearn for the things of earth, but you yearn for the things of heaven. When you are willing, God will insulate you from the searing power of loneliness. For when you place your life in the hands of Christ, He is with you forever. Yes, we need others. We need companionship. When your heart is willing, the Lord will lead you to a church or group of Christians and He will ease your searing loneliness. When you are willing, God will insulate your heart and mind from the need to get revenge for wrongs done to you. When you surrender your all to Christ, His love flows over you and you are then willing and able to forgive. When you are willing, God will insulate you from the need to always put yourself first. This does not mean your self does not exist. What it does mean is that when you give your life to Christ, your old self fades away and a new person or new self is born. |
