Previous Daily Devotional About God's riddle… Colossians 1:27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (NIV) With God, we gain Him by demanding nothing and surrendering all we have. We can look at His requirement to gain by surrendering as God’s riddle. It is ironic but God can be considered more selfish than we are. God is more demanding of our attention than we are demanding of His attention. God wants all of us all of the time. God wants all of us all the time so He can love us more. With God, you have to give up and give in to get His grace and love. God is, in some ways, a riddle personified, for in our fallen and broken world, what is often right side up to us, is wrong side up to God. This is why irony is a characteristic of God until we find Him. It is ironic, but for most people, they have to let God find them when they search for Him. All this sounds like a riddle. What is most wonderful of all is you can solve the riddle by the selfless opening of your heart. |
