Previous Daily Devotional About God’s sheltering care… Exodus 33:22 When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. (NIV) The song "Rock of Ages" is taken from this verse. God was speaking to Moses and if Moses had seen God’s face then Moses would have died. However, God loved Moses and the Israelites even when they rebelled, so God protected Moses by sheltering him. God will shelter us if we turn our heart and soul to Him. Even though we make our own plans and go our own way, even though we rebel and run away from God, even though we forget that God loves us, God will always welcome us back. God loves us so much He let His only Son die for us. Just as God sheltered Moses in the cleft of the rock, we can all be sheltered by Him. Being sheltered by God does not mean we will not have trouble, pain, or suffering. Being sheltered does mean, if we turn our heart to Christ, we will find ultimate and eternal protection in Heaven. |
