Previous Daily Devotional About the Great Shepherds compassion for His sheep Mark 6:34 When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things. (NIV) We are all fallible. We all make mistakes. We all experience falling down and sometimes we have a difficult time recovering. We all get lost. Even if we are afraid to venture out we still can get lost in our fear and anxiety. No matter how invincible we might think we are at some points in our lives, eventually we become like sheep without a shepherd. Jesus is portrayed many ways to us in the New Testament. In the verse above, He is shown to us to be a teacher with great compassion upon us. Jesus not only has great compassion for us he also wants us to learn from Him. In everyday life, this means we should learn from the Bible and apply its truth. If we are open and trusting, we can learn His ways and receive His blessings. |
