Previous Daily Devotional About guardian angels… Hebrews 1:14 Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation? (NIV) At the time of this writing, in January, 2003, the United States and other nations are in a mad dash against time to protect the citizenry against attacks of evil terrorists. It is believed that some day, possibly soon, horrendous attacks will come. We must all take comfort in these words from Hebrews. For all of us who have renounced our sin, who have thrown down the cunning wiles of temptation, who have repented of what Satan delights in seeing us do, we all live under the umbrella of angel’s wings. In our humanity, we are often not able to see angels or their protective cover. In our humanity, we cannot see into Heaven nor do we often see our real place in the destiny of the world. Because of what we cannot see, we too often miss out on the number of times an angel has been there to help us, shield us, and keep us from harm. A cancer victim might tell you there are no angels and there is no protection. However, when we have faith, we can see Jesus just across the great divide that separates us from Him. When a cancer victim has faith, the victim is not concerned about getting earthly protection in the here and now, for the cancer victim who keeps the faith clearly sees Christ’s arms are open and waiting. Praise be to our Lord Jesus for sending us guardian angels who help us keep our faith and protect us from the evil one who seeks to destroy us. |
