About having the right words…

Matthew 12:34 You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. (NIV)

We can talk sweet words for awhile. However, after a while the truth comes out of our heart and from the heart the mouth does speak. If we do not always have the right words, we need to change our heart before Christ. When we change our heart before Christ then His bountiful love in us will always give us the right words to use at the right time and in the right place. We cannot change our heart on our own. Much as we might try, much as we might want to change, we are powerless to change our heart from the sinful to the righteous on our own. Our heart gets changed only when we turn away from living the old life…the old life of rebellion and disagreement with God. Our heart gets changed when we turn away from the darkness of the world and we then embrace the light of God in Christ.
