About
hearing God say “I love you” (Part 3 of 5)…
Matthew
4:17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the kingdom of
heaven is near." (NIV)
When
we do not hear God say, "I love you", it is as if we are deaf to God's
voice. When we are deaf to God’s voice, we lack real and genuine love in our
life. When we do not hear God’s voice, our life is full of chaos. When there
is chaos in our life and we do not hear God, we must be honest with God. To be
honest with God we must go before Him and confess our sins. To hear God, we must
tell God we have not done what He has wanted us to do. When we confess before
God, we must tell God we are sorry for going our way rather then His way. As
much as God wants us to hear Him say “I love you”, God also wants us to come
to a place in our heart where we are willing and able to hear Him speak these
three precious words. When God sees us looking at Christ on the cross and He
sees within our heart a godly sorrow for what we have done to Christ, then God
begins to draw nearer to us in our godly sorrow. When God sees we are truly
sorry and we are full of pain about our sinful life, God then speaks to us and
tells us to turn away from our old ways and to open our heart to His voice.
Then, when we open our heart and we hear His voice, we not only hear God say,
“I love you”, we also hear God say, “I forgive you.”
