Christmas Story Devotional
Day Nine of Ten
About His Light in the darkness
Matthew 2:16 When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was
furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were
two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi. 17 Then
what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled: 18 "A voice is heard in
Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be
comforted, because they are no more." (NIV)
The first Christmas was accompanied by the slaughter of innocent children. We do not like
to think about these things. We do not speak about these things. These verses are ones we
read but we do not want to let sink into our holiday celebration. Acts of God in your life
will be counteracted by acts of Satan. For every yard of progress, Satan will try to
undermine you and wipe out that progress. This Christmas, cherish what the Lord has done.
Love His Son with all your heart, all your soul, and all your might. The more we love
Christ and the more of ourselves we give Him, the more of His Light we can bring into the
world.
One out every four babies conceived in the United States is aborted. Does anyone weep and
mourn for them?
