About holding fast when evil strikes…
Psalm 69:10 When I weep and fast, I must endure scorn; 11 when I put on
sackcloth, people make sport of me. 12 Those who sit at the gate mock me, and I
am the song of the drunkards. 13 But I pray to you, O LORD, in the time of your
favor; in your great love, O God, answer me with your sure salvation. (NIV)
When evil strikes, God wants you to hold fast to Him no matter what happens.
When evil strikes, the purpose of evil is to get you to loosen your grip on God.
When evil strikes, the purpose of evil is to get you to release your grip on the
Master's hand and be caught up in evil's sea of hopelessness and grief. However,
when evil strikes, your first and continuing mission is to never let go of
Jesus, because when evil strikes, Jesus never lets go of you. No matter what you
feel or what you think in the bitter times when evil invades, you must never
ever let go of God. For when we hold on to Christ's hand, we have access to
peace, love, and contentment not found in our worldliness. Of course, evil knows
what happens to people when evil comes in. Evil knows we begin to doubt God is
real when evil strikes. However, we must, when evil strikes, use all the power
and might we have…
To never let go of Christ
To never relent in our belief
To never give up our faith
To always trust in God
To always hope in God
