how Christ defeats the darkness… Romans 7:13 Did that which is good,
then, become death to me? By no means! But in order that sin might be recognized
as sin, it produced death in me through what was good, so that through the
commandment sin might become utterly sinful. (NIV) In our physical reality, we make a thing disappear by either changing it or putting the thing out of sight. Generally speaking, these are our only options to deal with what we want to make disappear. The method of Christ is vastly different when He confronts darkness and evil. To make darkness and evil go away, to defeat the darkness, Christ brings in His light and love. In the physical world, darkness has absolutely no power over light. Likewise, in God's spiritual realms, the darkness of the world has absolutely no power over the light and love of Christ. In the physical world, as long as light exists, darkness disappears and darkness can never put out the light. In the same way, spiritual darkness can never put out the light and love of Christ because Christ will live forever. In your life, when you confront the darkness, use the method Christ uses to defeat your darkness. In your life, turn on the light and love of Christ to see the darkness disappear as you win out and celebrate His victory.
