Previous Daily Devotional About how confession restores our relationship with God Numbers 5: 5 The Lord said to Moses, 6 "Say to the Israelites: `When a man or woman wrongs another in any way and so is unfaithful to the Lord, that person is guilty 7 and must confess the sin he has committed. (NIV) We do not like to confess. We do not like to own up to our faults, our errors, our mistakes, or our sins. Sometimes we commit wrongs against others, keep this darkness within us, and the darkness grows in us like a cancer. Gods word says we must confess the sin we committed. When we do a wrong thing, we are unfaithful to the Lord. We break our relationship with God when we do a wrong thing. To repair this relationship back to a point of wholeness, we must confess the wrong we have done. It is glorious that our Lord gives us a way to repair this broken relationship rather than casting us aside or throwing us into hell fire. The Lord wants us faithful to Him. He knows we are sin-laden and we are imperfect. It was this problem of being sin-laden that caused God to let His only son be crucified so that if you are willing, your sins can be washed away by the blood shed for you on the Cross. |
