Previous Daily Devotional About how doubt assails us… Matthew 21:21 Jesus replied, "I tell
you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was
done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, `Go, throw yourself
into the sea,' and it will be done. 22 If you believe, you will receive whatever
you ask for in prayer." (NIV) Doubt assails us in times
of trial and tribulation. In times of distress there are those who begin to
doubt even the existence of God. When we have doubt we must look at the long
history of our faith. When we have doubt we must look at the words of God. When
we have doubt we must look at Christ upon the Cross. When we have doubt we must
cast our cares and worries upon Christ. Christ would not have come to Earth to
save us if we were to be doomed to darkness with no hope. Christ came to Earth
to give us hope and a vision. Christ came to Earth to make our doubt melt away.
In Christ, we have an ever-present friend. In Christ, we have someone who loves
us so much He was willing to die for us. When we come next to Christ in our
prayer time, He comes next to us. When Christ is next to us we are confident and
sure of our destiny with Him. |
