Previous Christmas Devotional About
how God entrusted us with His little Son… 1
Chronicles 29:9 The people rejoiced at the willing response of their leaders,
for they had given freely and wholeheartedly to the LORD. David the king also
rejoiced greatly. (NIV) God has bestowed upon you many gifts and many blessings. No matter what your life has been like, no matter what kinds of trials and afflictions you have had to endure, God has given you blessings…so many blessings you cannot count them all. The most precious gift God has ever given you is His gift of His little Son born in a manger two thousand years ago. We too often do not think about Christ as a gift to us. We too often think about what Christ can do for us rather than thinking about the precious nature of Christ’s life. God’s gift of love in the form of His Son was entrusted to all men and women for all ages. God trusts you to take Christ into your heart and keep Him and keep His memory and teachings alive as long as you live. If God had not trusted us with the life of His Son, God would not have sent Christ into the world. Obviously, many people violated and still violate God’s trust in them. However, in your life, in your heart, and in your soul, God has placed the sacred trust of His Son’s life. What you do with Christ within you is a matter of great consequence in your life and in the life of the world. If you ignore the calling of Christ within you, it is as if you do not care about Him. When you respond to the calling of Christ within you, it is a sign to God you do indeed care and you do indeed love Him and cherish Him. You would not take a wonderful and cherished Christmas gift and ignore it. Christ Jesus was the most wonderful and cherished Christmas gift of all.
