Previous Daily Devotional About how we are not all the same… Romans 12:6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. 7 If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; 8 if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully. (NIV) It takes no great wisdom to understand and know all people are different. What does take great wisdom and understanding is accepting how all people are different. Different people have different gifts and abilities. What we must accept is the truth that just because people are different from us does not mean they are not blessed by God. We would all starve to death if a few people who we might find different did not grow our food. We would all live in an immobile society if a few people we might find different did not drill for oil later to be refined into gasoline. We would all still be living in shacks and huts if a few people we might find different did not build our homes, apartments, and residences. Although we are all different, we can all praise the contributions made by each other. In addition, we can all encourage each other and thank each other for what gets done. |
