Previous Daily Devotional About humility in prayerful thought… Luke 1:52 He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble. (NIV) From many indicators in the world, humility is a negative. Look at how the world embraces the loud, the raucous, and the arrogant. The social fabric of the whole world seems to have gone over to applauding behavior most Christians would find offensive. However, in Christ's eyes and in His heart, humility in prayerful thought is treasured. Humility in your prayer time is a key to victory over the darkness. Humility enables each of us to belong to Christ as long as we are willing to be humble before Him. Humility in prayerful thought enables Christ to be a part of every minute of your life. Humility in prayer enables God to become more real as we open the door of our heart to Him. The reality of God is confirmed over and over in us when we become humble in prayer. When we express love for God and gratitude for His blessings in humility, then His blessings increase. When we desire only to be simple and humble before God, He brings His power, grace, and love to us in ever increasing abundance. God is the true being of love and His love is accessible when we become humble in prayer. Burdens become lighter, and trials become more bearable when we embrace humility in prayer as we shun our ego, pride, and selfishness.
