Previous Daily Devotional This Devotional Is Part Of A Special Continuing Series Related To Dependency And Co-dependency Issues. Rules Of Godly Common Sense Apply. About ignoring injustices done against us… Psalms 82:3 Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. (NIV) There can be a fine line between a godly, emotionally healthy life and an ungodly, emotionally unhealthy life. A godly, emotionally healthy life is driven by godly, healthy motivations. An ungodly, emotionally unhealthy life is a life driven by ungodly, unhealthy motivations. A sign of ungodly, emotionally unhealthy motivations would be times when we feel weak and powerless. In these times of weakness and powerlessness, we can find it easier to feel and express anger about injustices done to others rather than feeling and expressing anger about injustices done to us. Injustices are to be corrected whenever possible. There may be times and circumstances when we cannot correct injustices against ourselves or against others. However, when we ignore injustices for any reason, we are running against the will of God. When we pretend injustices done against us do not exist, we are living a lie or living in denial. When we ignore injustices done against us because we are afraid to speak up or speak out, we must immediately go to Christ to find His strength, power, and courage.
