Previous Daily Devotional About the illusion of death… John 14:1 …trust also in me. 2 In my
Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am
going there to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for
you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I
am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going." (NIV) We talk about it. We think
about it. We see life end in those around us. However, we are all immersed in an
illusion if we think life ends. The substance of life, the energy coursing
through our cells, does not end. The energy we call life continues to exist when
our body stops working. The energy of our being or our soul does not just
evaporate when our heart quits beating. No matter what we face in life, we must
never be lulled into thinking there is an end to life. What happens to our soul
after our body quits working depends upon what we decide about Christ before our
soul departs our body. If we repent and accept Christ into our heart then our
future is glorious. Our future is then filled with grandeur in Heaven. If we do
not repent and do not accept Christ's sacrifice for us then our future is full
of eternal pain, suffering, and torment. |
