About
inheriting the eternal and imperishable…
1 Peter 1:4 and into an inheritance that
can never perish, spoil or fade--kept in heaven for you, (NIV)
Everything
upon the earth is perishable. No physical thing upon the earth is beyond change
or destruction. There will come a time when even the seas and mountains of the
earth will be changed. We live in a perishable world where what we treasure
today becomes trash tomorrow. We live in a world where what we treasure today
will not be ours tomorrow.
We
cannot keep our earthly treasures because we will leave our earthly treasures
when we inherit our heavenly home. On the earth, we must buy or make a
replacement for our "stuff" when our "stuff" wears out.
However, someday we will inherit what will never spoil, fade, rust, wear out, or
wear down. We will inherit, as our very own, the very "stuff" of
heaven. Our heavenly things are made with the hands of Christ, just for us. Our
heavenly things are custom made and tailored so our inheritance is perfect for
us. Christ has filled heaven with our eternal treasures because He loves us so.
