About judgment in the eyes of God…

Luke 6:37 "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. (NIV)

No one likes to be judged. No one likes to stand before a judge and receive a judgment unless the judgment is favorable. When we die, unless we have accepted Christ as our Lord and Savior, we will be judged by God. God always judges us in total and accurate fairness. God’s judgments are always fair and just. You always get the judgment from God you deserve. Because of your sin, fairness according to you may not mean the same as fairness to God. Because of your sin, justice according to you may not be justice to God. Because of your sin, righteousness according to you may not be righteousness to God. Because of your sin, good intentions to you are not necessarily good intentions to God. Your problem in the eyes of God, and the problem of every other person in the eyes of God is you are a sinner. You have fallen short of the will of God for your life. You are covered in sin. You are immersed in sin. Because of your sin, you cannot think rationally about God. Because of your sin, you have no hope for eternal life except by turning away from your sin and accepting Christ into your heart and life. Hope in the dead people of your past like dead friends or dead family members intervening for you will not save you. Counting on God to see how good you are, even when you refuse to accept Christ, will not save you. Nothing will save you except repenting of your sin and accepting Christ. After you die, you can beg God, you can plead with God, you can try and bargain with God, you can try use mental tricks on God, you can rationalize before God, you can make excuses before God, but only Jesus saves your soul for eternity. To escape God’s judgment, to not have to stand before God to be judged by God, you can just float right into Heaven for eternity if you reject the sin of the world and accept Christ as your Savior and Lord.
