for only He will release my feet from the snare. (NIV) We are all, in a sense,
trapped by life and life’s circumstances. There are many things over which we
have no choice or control. We do not choose our parents, our genetics, our
family history, or many circumstances in which we live. In the snares of life,
as well as all the numerous everyday circumstances over which we have no
control, we can forget who it is we are to live for and who died for us. You may
be trapped in a snare, but you can control the attention of your heart and mind.
You can focus the spiritual eyes and ears of your heart on the Lord. There is no
way to see the truth of what is happening to you while you are in a trap or
snare without looking toward the love of God. It is the love of God through
Christ Jesus who rescues you from the snares of life. It is Christ who rescues
you from the eternal snare of death.
