Previous Daily Devotional About keeping your head when
evil strikes… Ecclesiastes 10:4 If a
ruler's anger rises against you, do not leave your post; calmness can lay great
errors to rest. (NIV) It is easy to lose your mind when evil strikes. One of the purposes of evil is to get you to lose your head, to abandon all your reason, and to turn into the most debase and unreasonable person imaginable. You have seen this kind of circumstance. Unfortunately, in our world today, people losing their minds when evil strikes is headline news. However, when evil strikes you must keep your head. You must keep your ability to think and reason. What is so important for you to do is to remember to keep the chaos outside of your head. It is not what happens outside of our life that upsets us…it is our response to what happens inside of our life that upsets us. God enables each of us to build a wall between our heart, mind, and soul and the evil in the world. In building your wall, the heavy stones making up the wall are the love, compassion, mercy, and protective power of our Lord. When evil strikes, we must shield ourselves from evil by bringing in the power of Christ. Then, in opposition to the evil, we must reach out with a clear mind to strike a mighty blow against evil with Christ's love, compassion, mercy, and understanding. |
