About the last hour of our life John 8:49 "I am not possessed by a demon," said Jesus, "but I honor my Father and you dishonor me. 50 I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge. 51 I tell you the truth, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death." (NIV) All of us will come to a last hour of life. Even Jesus faced His own death on the Cross. When we face our own death, we must affirm our faith and affirm before God and Christ Jesus our belief in eternal life through Him. When we face the final hour in this life, it means that we are nearing the first hour of a new life where we will finally get to see Jesus face to face. When we face our final hour of this life on earth, we may be afraid. We may not be afraid of seeing Christ face to face but we may be afraid of the process of dying. Fearing the process of dying is natural, for we do not know what the process is like. We must remember, in the final hour, for those people who have accepted Christ, there is often a calm that comes over them. At our final hour and in all the hours from now until then, we must remember that Christ has prepared a great celebration and a great home for us in Heaven. When we face our final hour on earth, there is a great welcome being prepared for us in Heaven. There may be sadness at saying good-bye to those we leave behind, but it is important to pray now for God's protective care to be over those we leave behind. Now, as in our final hour, we should give all of our life to Christ. We should, at this present moment, and at the last moment, give Christ all the mistakes we have made, all the opportunities we missed, all the hours spent in selfishness, all the failures so numerous. We should, at this present moment, and at the last moment, give all these to Christ for He wants to erase them. Now, as in the last hour, we must thank Christ for forgiving us. At the last hour, we stand so very close to the gates of heaven. We stand so close to the gates some persons even hear the angel choir singing. Most of all, we can always, in Christ, look forward in hope and in promise for a time of eternal joy. What a treasure we have in Jesus. |
