About the light of hope…
1 Peter 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his
great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the
resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can
never perish, spoil or fade--kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are
shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be
revealed in the last time. 6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a
little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. (NIV)
When we think there is no way, there is a way. When we think there is no
hope, there is hope. When we think all is finished, we have yet to begin. When
we think there is no chance, there is every possibility and every probability
that what we think is gone is not gone at all. Hope is a flickering light that
can seem to go out in our lives. However, Christ came as the light of the world,
and His light is the hope of the world. Christ and our faith in Him gives us a
way to conquer the times of our hopelessness. When we think all is finished,
Christ comes to show us our work has not yet begun. When we think there is no
chance of anything good happening, the greatest doer of good comes and shows us
His ultimate good in our life is yet to be accomplished. The truth is you can be
defeated only with your consent. For every setback you experience, Christ is
behind you and if need be, pushing you onward. For every second you think you
can't make it, Christ is yelling and screaming at you to keep moving, to stop
feeling sorry for yourself, and to keep looking up. For when we look up, we see
His nail-scarred hands reaching down to pull us forward when we think we have no
strength to move. God has bigger plans for you than you do. God has bigger
dreams for your life than you do. God has more hope for your future than you do.
What you need to do when hope seems gone is to connect to His server and
download a million gigabytes of soul food called hope. He has the data. All you
need to do is make the connection.
